Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on school buses, trucks, or other District vehicle or motorized machine (lawnmower, leaf blower, etc.). May work on any vehicle system including diesel and gas engines, electrical, fuel, transmission and drive components, brakes, tires, exhaust, interior, batteries, suspension, wheels, cooling, frame, hydraulic and pneumatic. May include disassembly, reconditioning, overhaul, or replacement of components or parts. Worker may be assigned tasks according to his or her specialty or technical experience/expertise. May perform gas and arc welding if certified. Cleans and maintains immediate work area and shop. Reviews work orders, and writes time spent on job on Mechanic Daily Report.
